Lauren Oya Olamina, from Parable of the Sower and Parable of the Talents. Strong, independent, and wise enough to know that there’s strength in community.
His “Batman: Gotham by Gaslight” was the first full story I remember illustrated by him. Still holds up, IMO.
Before that I remember buying comics that he’d done the cover art for and being disappointed that he’d not drawn the interior :) Alpha Flight, X-Men, and so on.
I currently follow his Instagram and got a copy of his Quarantine Sketchbook–so many nice images to pour over!

Paul Chadwick’s Concrete. I keep hoping there’ll be more.
I have a real soft spot for that X-Factor run illustrated by Stroman. Massive energy in his drawing at that time.
It seems they’re missing out on a memorable marketing campaign: Deploracoin! 100 Deploracoins = 1 Deplorabill.

Have been collecting a few things illustrated by DaNi. Latest was her “Black Beth: Vengeance Be Thy Name.” A fun read!
American Movie
The Stew of Theseus!
Heart’s cover of “Stairway” still makes me break out in goosebumps. Long live Ann Wilson, a voice for the ages!

This is a powerful read. I can now better imagine the suffocating terror of having the Internet coming after you with the sole intent of total destruction. Thousands of people kicking down when you’re at your most exposed and vulnerable. Who among us doesn’t need understanding, some grace and forgiveness, and some path to reconciliation? People. sigh
