Can’t read the article because it’s pay walled…

But I can see Israel taking a cut for “security” or some bullshit. Maybe even outright taking it and using a tiny slice of proceeds for “the betterment of Gaza” that doesn’t do anything but enrich Israeli companies.

I don’t know how the US could profit off this tho.

Just having allies sell oil for dollars instead of some other currency already helps the US a lot. It’s called seigniorage, the more people use the US dollar, the more they can print without feeling much inflation. The whole gulf war was fought to ensure those countries traded oil in US dollar.

In the last year or two, several countries have traded oil for another currency for the first time in ages. Which is big. With Iran sponsoring Palestine a lot, they might have similar ideas. The Arabs of all people understand the oppressive tactics of the US and their currency.

Maybe even use the money to pay back for all the resources Israel provides Gaza for free.

While it is expensive to level entire city blocks, most people would like it to only happen when they choose to demolish a building. Not just randomly

I’m talking about water, fuel, and electricity. You clearly don’t seem to care about that, but are rather more interested in pushing your narrative.

Oh, the utilities Israel won’t let Gaza control so they can shut off access whenever they want for as long as they want?

As collective punishment against an ethnic group for the actions of a few extremists?

The thing that violates the Genova Convention?

              Yeah, they do that too.

But acting like Israel is a good guy for that, is like claiming space owners were helping slaves because they fed and housed them. Which is generally considered a shitty take used by racists to excuse horrible behavior…

Consider why Gaza has to depend on that outside aid. It’s not because they want to, it’s because Israel has stolen all of their land they could use to support themselves, and has locked them in an open air prison eliminating the opportunity for a functioning export-driven economy that cities typically use to import the materials they don’t have immediately around them. It’s like locking someone in a prison cell and then “generously” providing them with a daily meal and water.

Casus Belli to kill 10x more, destroy homes, displace 1.5M, cause humanitarian catastrophe. Damn sometimes I wonder who’s worse in this conflict.

the causes belli is why you declare war, what happens next is the war itself. you dont need the gas to have a causes belli.

i would be glad to hear how you would conduct a war against a terrorist organization without causing additional harm

        Yea, it does. And?

How many times are we expected to surprised pikachu after America shows sudden interest when oil is discovered in a region.

It wasn’t exactly discovered recently. How about we take your statement and flip it a bit: Could be that this is the only way the US knows for making money overseas.

Well the US is also currently salivating at exploiting the shit out of Argentina once the new guy starts selling off large portions of the government.

The US has a pretty diverse exploitation portfolio.

O&G once again is the key driver behind foreign policy around the world: the US in the Middle East, China in the South China Sea, Israel in Gaza…

The renewables transition cannot happen quickly enough.
