I have a radio app on my Nokia G21, buts its kinda shitty, hard to navigate cant record and clunky. Im looking for another FM radio apps, I only found ones that use the internet, and do not take the signal from the phones FM antenna, but from a server. I dont know if this can be accessed by any app, sadly I cannot root(Cant unlock bootloafer), but I can use ADB or shizuku.

I looked into this for my Samsung a while ago. At the time, there was no published API for the radio - each manufacturer had their own proprietary API that they kept to themselves. Which is why there aren’t any third party apps.

I’m not familiar with reverse engineering, but maybe you can sniff the intents the Nokia app is using? That or decompile it.

Not sure about apps either, but if you’re into it then I can defo recommend getting a SDR-RTL dongle, they’re really quite cheap too.

I’ve used nextradio in the past. It does both streaming and broadcast fm radio iirc. Samsung had a radio app bundled on some of their older phones. I wanna say Note 9 maybe or maybe the previous gen. You could look for the apk and try it

I found it, but it seems it is very dead now. Not worth considering. Sorry.

Post says they already use it and it’s a Nokia G21. According to GSM Arena it does have an FM antenna.
