    Europe continues its terrifyingly quick slide towards fascism. This time, though, there will be no Soviet Union to defeat the imperialist fascist threat through attrition.

      Not just no USSR, but an actively fascist Russia to align with and strengthen them. Nationalism is stronger than it’s been in a pretty long time.

        Modern Russia is nothing like the USSR. If anything, it’s most like what Russia would have become if the revolution had failed.
