Great work mate ♥️

Great work mate ♥️
Always good to see more people looking into platforms besides Twitter, plenty of great places out there
Make sure to never include your face when sending nude pics. Plenty of anonymous dick pics out there.
I thought the selling point behind most Twitter like services is that it’s focused on negative positioning. E.g. things that are negative focused get more attention and engagement
One thing I’m really surprised about is that the overall screen strength doesn’t seem to have improved over the last 5 years. Screens are still much better than what they were over a decade ago (where a drop without a case was pretty much a screen crack)
But I’m finding on my Pixel 7 pro for example that I’m still finding light scratches, it feels like these screens only have a 5 or 6 on the mohz scale where you’d usually expect a 7 or beyond.
The vast majority of comments in here seem to be focused on the attitude of “why you trying to start shit”
But legitimately from an outside presiding perspective, which instances have people found to be decent, there seems to be a heap of Lemmy instances, each with their own rules and vibes, so what’s the go?
After a decade of Samsung and other third party phones, I’m super keen on the Pixel 7 pro. Even with Samsung boosting huge MP counts for their phones, they always come across either blurry or low quality to me (especially selfies where it feels like they’ve cheaped out)
In comparison the software processing on the Pixel is amazing, things seems to always be in focus and correctly lit.
So it creating an exe and hiding it from the task manager is fairly normal then? From the screenshots another bloke pasted on here, that looks pretty suspicious
Cheers for the screenshot mate.
People hear from others that Lemmy is the place you go and when searched for you end up here. Having registrations closed doesn’t sound like a great idea when most people have no idea about the fediverse
Perfectly fair. People coming from Reddit specifically need to be eased into the fediverse and saying “whoops sorry we’re full / closed” isn’t great.
Ideally if we want things balanced people should be on multiple instances but I’d rather several slower, bigger instances in the meantime until the community expands.
Cheers for the work you guys do!
I’ve found it’s worked really well. One annoying part is if you use Google search, the top 4/5 results which usually are ads (but eventually redirect to the correct page you want) become inaccessible, as Adguard interrupts it
There’s a mobile app in the works, Artemis. Things will be a bit better when the site gets official API support and more services can connect to it
I’ve found squabbles pretty good for tweet style content. There seems to be a pretty engaged audience who can look at a short sentence or photo and happily engage with a comment
I’m pretty happy with kbin.social. It’s a nice place, with several devs actively looking at making the experience better, it just takes a while being an open source project and all
Enjoying Matrix, there seems to be an actual focus on privacy. We’re using it for the development comms for Kbin. Feels like an alternative version of discord
Spot on. We’re changing XYZ policy and we need everyone to do this training within the week. Wait, why’s no one opening my emails
Need the opposite costume, the overly eager sys admin.
Yep spot on. I get that people have their own preferences and tolerances, but that’s what it is, thier own, it feels pretty entitled to think everyone else should be affected when you can just block communities and people yourself
I’m pretty fond of these little Velcro straps I got from Amazon that are like 10cm x 30cm, you use them to push all your computer cables into them so you can neaten them up. I’ve got several of them strapped back to back and it’s a pretty decent solution (and being Velcro you can just pull it apart later on)
