I do not know where I got this from, but I thought all dogs were male and all cats were female. I thought this while I had a dog named Betsy and a cat named Sebastian.
If that’s not bad enough on its own, I think I was in first or second grade when I learned the surprising truth. I wasn’t a dumb kid, either. I learned to read when I was about 3.5 yrs old and started 1st grade as a 5 yr old.

I really like him, but I think she’d do much better naming a younger VP. He is exceptionally qualified, but he’s probably going to quell some of the enthusiasm young voters are showing for Harris.
Democrats have been concerned with his age, it was being taken seriously, hence the calls for him to pass the torch. I think his age was being taken seriously. While he was the presumptive nominee, he would have had my vote because I believe Trump should never ever be allowed to serve again. I’ve said I’d have voted for a dead frog before I’d vote for Trump and that wasn’t a joke.
I don’t think it’s hypocrisy to support the candidate you have been given, until he isn’t the candidate any longer.

He was nominated by the Greenback party, (third party) running against the Democrat and Republican nominees. He had less than 1% chance to win according to his wiki. I’d say that no matter how fuzzy the definition of major party is, the Greenbacks weren’t that.
He sounds like he was an intelligent person who was concerned with social justice, especially for the native tribes.

I think independents understand the great danger Trump poses and are going to hopefully vote for the person most likely to defeat him, and at this point that is Biden.
And yet, I and many others will vote for him. We cannot let Trump anywhere near the presidency. I honestly would vote for a dead frog over Trump. The staff that’s in place is competent, have done well for us, and I believe they’ll hold things together until Kamala takes over.
Of course we would all rather a much younger, charismatic candidate, but it is what it is.
At this point, I truly believe most Democratic voters understand the assignment.

My husband and I did. We’ve trained extensively. I can guarantee you the other side knows how to use their weapons. It feels ridiculous, but I really think bad things are coming and we’d better be prepared.

Well, King Trump I will just look at it anyway, and have Biden prosecuted anyway. It’ll be HIS official act, and that will (forgive me) trump any of Biden’s official acts. We all know the protection of immunity is for them, not us.

So, I’ve got a theory. She killed her pup not because it upset her by scattering the birds she hunted, but because it embarrassed her in front of the neighbors when it killed their chickens. Cricket wouldn’t listen to her and it made her feel publicly ineffectual and weak. Being made to feel that way absolutely enraged her.

Deep south Louisiana here. Recognized the fake sincerity in both her awful “I’m a good Christian wifey” voice and her “fake fake fake concerned” facial expressions, the fake automated and often inappropriate smiles. Yuk.
I’m sure this will fly right over the heads of Evangelical/Fundie idiots, because that’s all they’ve ever known. But those of us who’ve dipped our toe into the waters of a wider world are noticing, and we are not being fooled at all.
Even some Republicans down here noticed…my neighbor asked me if I saw her “little talk in her kitchen” and called it a shit show. She’s not wrong, but I don’t think she even knows to what extent.
Tens of millions of women are angered by the overthrow of abortion rights and her “mommy and wifey” as her primary role in society is going to anger them further. The Republican woman is being shown as submissive with little value to the party; she literally belongs in the kitchen! That’s a big no-no to many women, even some Republican ones.
Do not give your senior pet to an animal rescue. I think the mental anguish they’d experience they’d suffer from feeling abandoned would hurt them so, so much.
Do your best. Talk to your vet and ask for guidance.
We all face this, eventually. It is hard to face that our cherished pet is aging, but it’s our duty to see them through.
