A lot of IT companies in NL hire foreigners. There’s just too little local offer. They throw with work visas as a result, because they’ve never heard about remote-first work being possible after covid. They can’t modernize their work culture because of stupid old fashioned managers and as a result NL has one of the worst housing crisis in Europe. And pay ain’t that good either in a lot of cases, taking into account how much you lose on rent.
Windows server and all the half-working crap it comes with it. I ended up replacing most functionalities with third party tools because Microsoft doesn’t know about good UX. OS deployment? Replaced, GPO? Replaced where possible. Patch management? Replaced.
I’m the opposite though. I could create an account but I still don’t understand how to be logged into other mastodon instances automatically and follow content
I always wanted to start playing the game
Firejail is an alternative
The Hunt is a great one but it’s about losing your friends and their trust, after a misunderstanding. Be prepared to shed a few fears
Ok doomer.
Nice suggestion btw, love that show
It doesn’t necessarily need to remain that way. For example,we should have the option to make our profiles private. We should also be able to create pseudonyms for content we submit. The content will still be federated, but not necessarily linked to one user ID
That is part of the problem though. Proper privacy allows you to express what you want to, without self censorship. The issue is not: don’t speak about x, but rather: speak about it and feel comfortable that you can do it in a safe environment. I fully agree with the account linking though
Yeah it’s stupid and not privacy friendly, but it’s not like any bank is privacy friendly nowadays from my experience
I also couldn’t find anything. Not even any banking apps support it because they all work with google pay on android.
I think it’s actually the other way around. BECAUSE phone numbers are linked to our accounts and identities, it makes us vulnerable to SIM swapping. They should only be used for calling and texting people, nothing more. But nowadays we need to link our personal details to them, our accounts, which introduces this vulnerability because then it creates this incentive for an attack
But it’s not helpful if these things are not transparent to the consumers on the longterm. Such transparency can help make informed decisions
I haven’t used it that’s extensively but for every of my needs, it performed great.
You call it battery performance update just as Apple stated, others call it deliberately slowing down their phone.
Convince governments to move over from Windows, because Bill is gonna be all up in their ass to protect his $$$
I never felt OpenOffice and libreoffice were a decent replacement for MS office. It was too different in many ways and compatibility was never top. Since I moved to softmaker (not OSS), I’ve been happier.
I had a positive experience using xmr. But I contacted them about their crappy pgp key months ago, they did nothing. I contacted them about many websites not being accessible from some of their servers, they did nothing.
