As a Canadian, the fact that it took until the 90s to close the last residential school gives me little faith that the US will make tangible moves to end slavery in this century.
Biden’s had no more regard for the intended role of the executive branch than Trump, he’s just less openly antagonistic about it. Trump openly derides the system, while Biden just quietly whips it into line.
This is from the same President that slurred “womenofamerica” at a rally, so I guess it’s understandable he would confuse being responsible for being responsible.
The US wanted to strike Iranian targets without retaliation in order to not lose face globally. Tehran says no. If I were serving on a US military base in the Middle East, I’d be looking for ways to take leave because things are about to get hot.
An absolute failure of the IFF system of US AD.
I mean I too would not be happy about a two-state solution with a “state” that’s releasing snuff films of my people.
Nobody wants to enter into a hot war with the US. Without Western support, Israel would be in a pickle right now.

Jordan accuses Israel of deliberately targeting its Gaza field hospital
Israel has comprehensively pissed off all of its neighbours. It knows it can get away with it too, because daddy US will always be there to support them.
Israel is more closely aligned with the US than Palestine. It’s nothing personal.
Given that ships are reporting ties to China to avoid getting targeted and state-owned COSCO has stopped serving Israel in exchange for Red Sea transit, I’m not really sure what pressure the US hopes to apply here.
China doesn’t care about the Houthis because they’re not interrupting Chinese trade.
Australia, under Morrison, joined AUKUS in September of 2021. At the time, O’Brien was national security advisor and Gray was a member of the national security council.
Morrison now works alongside O’Brien and Gray at AGS.
AGS delivers unparalleled expertise for its clients by assessing the global political environment and devising strategies to navigate international and domestic challenges. Founded by Trump-era former U.S. National Security Advisor Ambassador Robert C. O’Brien and former National Security Council Chief of Staff Alexander B. Gray, the firm has assembled a leading team of experts with experience at the White House, State Department, and Pentagon.
China is sending aid to Gaza, is pressuring regional partners to stop infighting, and Chinese weapons are “accidentally” ending up in Palestinian hands. Chinese shipping is blatantly showcasing the viability of Yemen’s sanctions by restricting shipments to Israel in exchange for transiting the Red Sea (putting the ships at risk of getting caught in a US/UK strike). China, in general, has a policy off no-military-intervention outside of it’s immediate vicinity and hasn’t fired ammunition at an enemy since the fall of the Soviiet Union, and hasn’t fought at scale since 1979. China does not express its power with “who has a bigger stick.”
Are we also forgetting that China mediated the Iran-KSA rapprochement, which had direct implications on the Israel-KSA relationship?
Yes, but think of the headline.
Russia also hasn’t been shy about it
Al Asrah and Srinda both turned off AIS IIRC. There’s a reason you’re not supposed to turn off AIS: it implies that you’re trying to circumvent sanctions. Russian ships, for example, would turn off AIS and transfer oil to non-Russian ships.
Regional war averted
If you’re going to spread misinformation, at least research it properly.
Every ship attacked by Ansar Allah has ties to Israel, whether that be through the owner, the operator, the crew, or the cargo. For example, Maersk is, today, still accepting shipments to Israel and still maintains an office in Tel Aviv.

This reeks of France saying they’re not “French” mercenaries: they’re mercenaries that happen to be of French nationality.
I don’t think many people are claiming that the French government is paying mercenaries to fight in Ukraine, but that the Ukrainian government may be paying French mercenaries to fight in Ukraine.
Why the fuck is a mod so active in the comments trying to enter into arguments with people?
