Nightmare Before Christmas. Not that I want a sequel, mind you, but it is Disney we’re talking about here. It’s like a to tobacco addict turning down one specific brand of cigarettes.

Correct. His business is being an offensive blowhard, which attracts a certain kind of person who perceives it as strength. Then they pay him to make them feel better about beibng offensive blowhards.
Everything about this is a nightmare.
I’m glad you’re happy. However, virtually no one else would be. I mean a statistical blip of humanity would be happy living in a van.
The reason I’m uncomfortable that you exist is that people I know who live out of their cars are mentally ill individuals who have convinced themselves that they enjoy something which is, very clearly, sad and terrible.
That may not be you, but I’d be willing to bet it’s a majority of van-dwellers. It’s just not a healthy lifestyle for most.
Good for him, I guess, but … I wouldn’t want to live in that POS even if you paid me. These stories are so frustrating because they start to normalize that living in a shoebox is normal. It isn’t. It’s terrible.
Yep. I wish Beeper had just stuck with the PC and iOS apps.
Beeper is more than that. Beeper MINI is about that. But I’ve been using Beeper on my PC for the past year because I am so tired of picking up my phone a million times a day just to send someone a message. I’d say probably 90% of the people I know use iPhone/iMessage so having the ability to message them on desktop was a lifesaver for me. Really bummed it’s not working anymore.
I used to look to Reddit when big news broke because it was always on the front page within minutes. This past year there have been a few times that big news stories weren’t even on the top few pages. I gave Lemmy a try, and it feels just like reddit from 2013. I love it. I’m home.

The literal IRS tax filing isn’t enough evidence for you?
Because sometimes it’s nice to feel like you’re a part of a community. I get it.
My logical brain: He’s not wrong. The rest of my brain: Yeah, good luck with that, asshole.
We might be thinking of different meanings of the word value. If value means anything that is worth money, then yes she probably is creating value. If value means something that contributes to society and mankind then… Bullshit job.
There’s no such thing as a “master brand strategist.” Look into David Graeber’s Bullshit Jobs theory. Hers is most likely a bullshit job.
I’m a person without that background and I’ll talk about it. What’s the uncanny similarity you mentioned?
