I guess you are talking about modpack that contain 10 mods and not 60-200. Idk what the worsr modpack was and I can imagine modpacks with 60 mods can still be handled by my laptop with 8GB Ram but have fun using larger modpacks while consuming youtube or something in parallel. All the mods modpack was one of the worst

Afaik, its Apples way to render things with their OS. It only works with Apple and its similar to DirectX which only works for Windows.

The best thing everyone should use is something that supports all platforms like OpenGL or Vulkan which is even Open Source

I assume as this is a Gaming mode, its purpose is not to avoid waiting for features. But close the entire desktop which may use up to 1GB RAM and a by of CPU. Which definetly impacts the game by some fraction. Doesnt matter how tiny, its just what gaming modes are having as focus I assume.

On my Linux machine. I did nothing and all was just running out of the box without needing to touch anything.

Meanwhile on Windows 10 and 11. I spend more than an hour installing GPU and Soundcard drivers with 3 reboots. Additionally a friend told me to reinstall the GPU drivers as I have bug X and Y which seemed common on Windows.

I think wlroots is the standardized thing. Many WMs use it but desktops need to switch over to it afaik. I think KDE talked about doing this for plasma.

I am unsure what wlroots really is and maybe its not a libcompositor you were talking about but similar.
