Must be a location thing. All the garden places around here (Seattle) have them most of the time, and my local hardware store has them a lot of the time.

You can get ladybugs from most garden or even some hardware stores. If all else fails, https://www.naturesgoodguys.com/ is a great option
Showed this to my very green thumbed partner. She said sounds like mealy bugs, but the solution is the same as aphids.
Water/alcohol/drop of soap solution
70% isopropal alcohol - 1 part alcohol to 7 parts water, one drop of soap
90% isopropal alcohol - 1 part alcohol to 9 parts water, one drop of soap
Spray a cloth with the solution, then manually wipe down the plant. Spray the plant, but DO NOT put it under a light or in the sun until it is dry as the leaves will burn. Let it dry, then do manual removal of the bugs by wiping it down with the solution every day or every other day. It might take several weeks. Her exact words is that “It takes vigilance.”
How long before that happened? I’ve been running it for several months and have had no issues
Very. I have had to use the terminal for a couple things (VPN and some Switch modding), but 99% of the time it is unnecessary.
Mint has not worked well with my Nvidia card either. Pop_OS is doing great, though. They have an Nvidia specific install with some optimization for Nvidia cards.
Can’t sell you out if you never bought in
Discord works great on Linux nowadays. Depending on the game, anti-cheat might also be fine. I play Helldivers 2 without any issues. It’s fine if you don’t have the oomph, but Pop_OS and Bazzite are both super solid ditros with a gaming focus. I have been using Pop as my only OS on my desktop for months now and really only needed the command line for VPN access and Switch modding
Seattle too. Honestly I think it is just the nature of big cities where most middle to lower class folks can’t afford live in them.
I have Mint on a very old MacBook. It is definitely more akin to Windows. I went went Pop on my desktop due to the baked in Nvidia drivers. Of the 2, I prefer Pop by a long mile. To my eye, Pop is just more modern design wise and simpler to use
I’ve been running Pop_OS as the only OS for my desktop for several months. I really like it. Other than a couple adjustments on where to find things, it really was a smooth transmission. You can change the placement of a lot of elements in the settings, so be sure to poke around there to make it more like you are used to. I use mostly Steam/Proton, and it has not failed me yet. The only thing I use Lutris for is Satisfactory on Epic Games, but that also runs great.
Oh for sure. I just meant this one didn’t do anything different than the 011 and is more expensive. And well…trash quality
it’s no different than buying something made (in whole or part) in China giving tax money to the CCP to further Uighur genocide in Xinjiang
The difference for me is that while I do try to avoid those things, it is not possible a lot of times. I can avoid buying a game 100% of the time. They are essentially a luxury item.
$240 with no fans. Not that I will need a new case anytime soon, but that is ridiculous for a narrow 011 clone
Adding to that, sometimes those lines are things you know of and would like to not cross, but are impossible to avoid.
I have excellent news: you can also not buy games from those companies too.
The russian people still deserve to earn a wage, to pay for their necessities
While I can’t say that Saber for sure works this way, but every studio I know of pays a salary, and the sales of the game don’t factor in (with the exception of bonuses and maybe shady practices around contracted QA). The article even states they are busy working on their next game, so those people are currently being paid.
I don’t believe anyone is calling out the employees in this situation. I think the difference is agency. I can choose whether or not to spend money on the game, thereby choosing whether or not to send money to the Russian government. A Russian employee does not have that choice, much like people in the US don’t have a choice to pay taxes that fund a genocide. People buying leisure items do have that choice, though.
This is not about the politics of the company or whether or not the people support the government. Influence is not the point. This is about material support to the Russian government. Money spent on the game goes to the Russian government in the form of taxes. This blurb says it in plain text:
To put it crudely, an average gamer, who buys Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 for $59.99, helps the company to fund the Russian army with almost $12
Kinda what I figured. I was going to suggest a shared mailbox that could be unlocked with a password that is behind some kind of time gate, but I found this site:
I know nothing about it, but seems to do what you need
Molbak’s (RIP) had them, McLendon hardware has them, Swanson’s has them. I mean garden shops (and probably nurseries now that I think about it), not usually indoor plant shops.
