if you’re thinking if trying it, you may want to opt for jellyfin instead. its an open source fork of emby that doesn’t need a subscription and avoids some of the more concerning recent moves they’ve been making
While this is undesirable, you can’t expect a corporation to break the law for you just because. proton at least is better than the rest of the corporate, for-profit providers who sell your data to the highest bidder.
Some devices have unofficial ports, so check your phone’s XDA page
Or you can do what i did and opt for a GSI if your phone supports phh treble
Why not opt for FOSS, self-hosted options such as jellyfin? Geniune question, as servers and storage are relatively cheap, and in combination with the arr suite you can easily have a decent catalog without tol much effort.
The advantages ofjellyfin are mainly its open source nature, and lack of needing to pay to unlock features such as downloads. It may be a little more effort to set up but still isn’t too difficult. Once set up, it works pretty much flawlessly, except for the occasional hiccup which can be resolved pretty easily.
It has an official app available for android TV, which is in the store, and as for Tizen OS, there is an official app (on their github), however it is somewhat more difficult to install from what i’ve seen.
If you want to check availability, there is a list of clients at https://jellyfin.org/downloads/clients/all/
Isn’t this word 2016?
Average wayland user
Just say linux, the 'gnu + ’ is a given
If you really care about privacy, self-hosting is the only way to go. Gives you maximum control over your data and is not too difficult to set up.
It’s gonna hurt me
What’s the difference? I’ve been using Comic mono from github the whole time
