I also have a conspiracy theory where he is a CIA agent and George Harrison is an MI6 agent and they conspire to make Dylan the 5th Beatle to improve relations between USA and UK in the cold war, but this failed because McCartney was afraid of Dylans songwriting capabilities. Well let us look at the watchtower. There is only one piece remotely close to the watchtower on a7: the pawn on b6. So this must then be a prince. However, we know that this pawn can promote to a queen, but not to a king. This leads me to the conclusion that the pawn is in fact a princess, not a prince; the line would then go: “all along the watchtower, princess kept the view.” This makes even more sense when we remind ourselves that there is only one pawn around, so “princes” is impossible in this position.

There can be a debate whether the princess is just a princess or is actually called “Princess”, but this is something I will think about tomorrow.

I think so. Some other songs like “idiot wind” or “positively fourth street” have some savage lines too, but those are mixes of sadness and anger, while this one feels like pure hatred to me. His other political songs often don’t really blame a single person, but the system, which feels less direct. Examples are “hurricane” and “only a pawn in their game”.

I can’t think of any other song where he sings something remotely as savage as “I hope that you die”.

The only story I could find was an accusation of sexual abuse of a 12 year old girl in 1965 in New York, with the accusation coming from a woman in 2021. The original accusation could not be true because Bob was not in New York at the time, but in the UK. Later the accusation was changed and still later, in 2022, fully dropped; no evidence was ever given.

It is getting a lot better, but traditionally chess was a game for men only. Until the 2000s women were seen as inferior by most top players, like Bobby Fischer and Garry Kasparov (AKA Gary Chess, inventor of chess). Right now 95 percent of members of the Dutch chess federation is men. In my local chess club the average ratio men/women is provably like 90/10, with the difference between children being a lot less than adults.

If you haven’t seen it, the series “The Queens Gambit” does a pretty good job portraying the difference between men and women at the top of chess: maybe one woman, hundreds of men.

The gender gap is coming down, but it is still there.

It is an album by the famous Frnch singer Jean-Jacques Goldman. Even though he is not known for anything chess related, he is Frnch. The Fr*nch are looked down upon in chess for some reason, so anything in chess related to this nation has been called “en passant.” This includes capturing a pawn that moved two squares, throwing a croissant on the board and starting a revolution turning all pieces into pawns.

Maybe, but alcohol works fine. Intellectual research at my local chess club shows that three beers is the optimal amount, massively increasing intuition, without significantly decreasing intelligence. So for beginners I would recommend starting there.

Your world vision is too narrow. It is time for you to expand your horizons, move across borders, explore new worlds, new planets, new lives! Start with checkers. Maybe some day your board will be big enough to see the squares you can only dream of.

Someone from my local chess club has an account on Lichess where he only uses Bongcloud-like openings. He has reached a rating of over 2000 and crushed some 2200’s (that’s almost professional level for those who aren’t familiar with ratings).

Coca-Cola gambit for the slightly more advanced (even though I have invented a brilliant countergambit against it). For black the fried fox defense is pretty OP too.
