The more tactile, the better I say. The clickity clack is just an added bonus.
Cool - forcing ads into the start menu, forcing edge on users. Guess like Win10 is where I leave windows forever.
I downloaded Mandrake Linux back in 1992. I’ve always fiddled with linux over the years but could never fulfill all my needs. But things have changed recently. I’ve started using ChatGPT to help me when I hit roadblocks with Linux, and it’s REALLY helped work around the various barriers that have kept me from fully adopting linux. Honestly, I am looking forward to switching entirely over to Linux for my business - I’m tired of Windows. And I’ve been here since Win3.1!!
I haven’t done much with Excel and Word these days, but I have not had a single issue opening standard documents. The PDF import capabilities for LibreDraw work reasonably well. Many MANY years ago I fiddled with OpenOffice and then LibreOffice before moving to Office365 for a while.
Now I’m back to LibreOffice for the past 5+ years and haven’t had any complaints
Dammmn, that’s a sick burn. I love it
Yep, exactly. As cool as DU rounds sound on the battlefield as a competitive advantage for piercing armor. They are a health risk to both the soldiers handling them and absolutely poisons the soil which will have an affect on future generations living on that land.
But I guess that’s the point - to scare the russians as well as salt the earth so it’s useless irradiated soil for either side to use for decades to come… Or I’m sure if Russia keeps the land, they’ll simply mine it anyways and who gives a hoot about the health of government workers mining resources for the motherland, right?? /s
Lol, oh sweet child. You have much to learn about what a corporation says, and what they’re forced to do by government regulations. Without them, corporations can (and will) do anything they want for the sake of more profits.
Unfortunately, with a country run by a bunch of geriatrics who hardly understand the concept of the “internet” and hardware/software, let alone the nuances of different social media platforms or how different communities within the internet interact.
I avoided chrome for a long time. Finally I made the switch because FF was getting too slow on old computers back in the day. Lasted for maybe five or six years before I started getting some bad vibes. Why am I letting google run the web browsing software I’m using? This can’t/won’t be good in the future.
At least five years ago I made the switch back to Firefox, and haven’t looked back. I love having adblocking that works (I use a router level ad block and ublock origin just in case to ensure I block almost every ad on the internet lol).
I’m honestly surprised it took people this long to decide to move away from Chrome.
Victim complex much? Shesh who the heck cares
well, I mean if the shoe fits, you know they’re gonna wear it
Just last month I came across a cd I burned with Mandrake Linux that I had downloaded - 26 years ago!
I should try and install that on a virtual PC and see how it feels/looks hahaha
My partner needed to buy a new vehicle. A Tesla Model was easily in budget. But they opted not to buy one because they want zero affiliation with Musk or any connotations that they may endorse his behavior by owning one of his products.
Even a simple kbin link would work.
For example since this community is “fediverse” on the lemmy.world instance my link would be
Loving the tool - but when i try to login and put in the instance of kbin.social it gives me an error
Seems like every major transition from social media platform reduces that length of time for niche communities. It also took Reddit a while to get there as well. But people are already looking for identical communities on lemmy, like the tree ents
One of my good friends is trans in a deep red part of a red state. Thankfully they pass (better than they think) because I fear for their life if people knew the truth about them. Really sad what our country has devolved into
Conservatives are usually polite, kind, warm and emphatic.
Ahhh hahahaha now that’s funny. Pepperidge farm remembers
Yeah that doesn’t apply to every brewery. My wife works for a micro brewery (3 barrel system). They have 22 taps and constantly rotating out new beers and flavor combos. I’m often there helping to brew (and scoop out the spent grain which we feed to our spoiled chickens). MOST of the time they’re using high grade amoretti brand flavoring (although they do add other stuff like fresh fruits or spices and cakes where appropriate).
But since they’re not producing high volume, they are constantly rotating out flavors and styles of beers. Almost every other week there’s something new on tap.
Lol for people with malware issues, it’s usually not the first or last time they’ll find a way to break something. Given how much is done on the cloud these days and how much is available for Linux, that’s usually my go to advice to prevent further issues.
Someone else recently explained it best: It’s elderly abuse.
The entourage encircling these elderly congressional leaders are profiting greatly. As soon as these senators retire, these leeches lose nearly everything.
It’s a Weekend At Bernie’s movie plot, but with extra steps.
