The BBC should settle down lol, it didn’t backfire. Some group of aides took 900 calls, probably tallied it up on a few sticky notes, and passed them to a rep who tossed it in a bin.

Preventing corporations is one piece of the puzzle, the next is finding a way to not incentivize people using their owner-occupied houses as the retirement investment vehicle.

We won’t be able to build more houses if people keep justifying their votes for bad planning over this fear their house value will drop to zero.

I genuinely am curious where you’re living that everyone’s having a hard time putting a roof over their head. The stats simply don’t match this narrative in the overwhelming majority of areas in the US.

Biden was never a progressive president. He wasn’t running on anything close to a progressive platform. I’m not sure why in this, or literally a hundred of your other comments here that get responded to by others, is still a surprise.

I disagree with the logic of complaining about inflation then suggesting all of the money should’ve been distributed to individuals.

The numbers didn’t really grow until the method to count active users was modified. We won’t know the impacts of growth/decline for another 2-3 months at least.

As I said, I’m not sure what to say. I’ve done both cases, a transfer and restoration, and had issues with both where some app data didn’t copy over. Maybe I should prioritize getting a Pixel device as my next Android fiddle-phone.

Contacts, photos, settings were mostly fine (though I did not do an exhaustive audit, but I’ll give it credit here).

(I ended up wiped/deleted this comment, but it’s original contents stated that I had upgraded my drawer-android-phone to a S23 last year from another 3-4 year old Samsung device, and that I wasn’t sure what to say here. I deleted the comment because, I don’t have the energy to debate)

On the other hand, the phone just works, upgrades between devices are seamless, and the phone retains value after 4 years.

Plus, the backup restoration is insane. If you stole my phone, I’d be back to where I was within an hour or two — all of which is driving to Apple and waiting on a sales clerk to pull an iPhone from the back, then going to a store owned by my cell carrier to register the device on their network. No device re-customization at all in the equation. There is nothing like it on Android.

5GB is a lame amount for a base tier of storage in 2024 but it’s hardly abuse.
