Ubuntu devs like the worst kind of nerds though?

They are nerds who cater to their enterprise and salaried software dev customers. They still deserve a lot of respect for getting mainstream desktop Linux into the limelight and it’s still a very good distribution with a large existing support base of users. A lot of terminally online penguin nerds don’t like Ubuntu because Ubuntu is popular yet doesn’t cater to their needs and they can get very loud about it.

Is pop now like a good fork of ubuntu sorta?

They chose Ubuntu as a package base but they overlay their own packages and have their own vision of the desktop kinda like Linux Mint.

You should check POP!_OS out when they fully release their new COSMIC desktop, they’re the coolest people in the Linux space rn since they’re so laser focused on delivering on the needs of their users since they’re also a hardware company.

Being a GNU/Linux user wizards are the one thing I wish we had more of in this space. Very few programs are packaged to ship with setup wizards. Package managers made everything too efficient and clinical.

You’re in luck because Fedora Atomic can install the Mullvad VPN GUI by layering the .rpm package file on top of your system. A manual enabling of the mullvad daemon and a simple restart will have it work perfectly.

You could also use Mullvad’s openvpn/wireguard configuration files directly and have no overhead. I personally use AirVPN atm so this is what I do.

DS and 3DS were cool because you could play multiplayer with friends if there were just near you with their own ds. You can’t do that on either the Switch or the Deck.

The big 2 don’t even do big console exclusives anymore and Nintendo is fighting tooth and nail to stop people from ever playing their games at 1080p on a high refresh rate screen. PS5 went by in a flash and Xbox keeps releasing the same console in less appealing form factors.
