Yeah, both with Mastodon, PeerTube and Lemmy I started on my own instances. Actually not quite, I had an Mastadon account for a day somewhere before I decided that I want to use it for real and installed my own instance.

Yeah something like the CX22 https://www.hetzner.com/cloud/ which is € 4.51 / month is enough for lemmy.

What I do instead is I host a series of services on my VPS and I pay about 20 EUR/month

• my old PHP website + blog
• another old PHP blog
• my sisters PHP website
• my sisters static website
• Firefox Sync server

There are several reasons why I don’t want a physical CD:

I have no space for it

I don’t want to carry it when I move

It’s a lot of work to sell it

I need to pay shipment around the world to Korea

The production and shipment creates unnecessary CO2, so it’s even bad for the environment

15 month old likes rhythmical music, especially metal. Today we stopped and watched while road workers were fixing the road with big machines. Oneachine tried to shake off some dirt which was stuck and was banging against it in a 4 to the floor beat so my little one started headbanging to it.

I’m having a backup in a external hard USB hard drive, off site on a Synology at my parent’s house, and then I sync the music to my two phones, two laptops and to my server. I guess this is enough ^^

Yeah exactly, Jeff Bezos really doesn’t need more of my money. I wish bands would sell their music on their website somehow, like with stripe or something like that.

I was genuenly trying to find something like Bandcamp which would have more bands, because the next one is Paramore which I’d like to get their latest album. I at least hope that some of the money would go to the artists to make more music in the future.

I checked 7digital and they had like 3 songs of that band. But qobuz seems to have most of their music https://www.qobuz.com/us-en/interpreter/von-wegen-lisbeth/2016646 thanks for the tip. They have a German, Swedish and even Japanese shop, but no Korean, but I guess I can use any of those shops.
