You can limit when an app is allowed to access your location in Android. But I’m guessing it’s used for finding the nearest restaurant to do mobile orders.

Exactly. I guess at this point, I’m ok with some certain datapoints being collected. Mostly what they’ll get from me is that I occasionally like a Sausage Egg McMuffin on my way to work. lol
I never go to McDonalds without using a code from the app. $2 breakfast sandwich? Cool. 20% off entire order? Cool. It’s gotten to the point that using the app is necessary to get reasonably priced food. Without it, you’re overpaying.

A head unit is the actual radio hardware in a car. Some of them can be replaced with after market hardware. Yes, when my phone is connected to the radio by Bluetooth, I have to keep the unit on and set to the Bluetooth input in order to hear notification sounds. If I have it off, or set to another input I won’t hear any notifications that come in.
In my state it is against the law to hold your phone while you’re driving so I keep it connected by bluetooth for calls. It’s not a problem when I’m listening to music or podcasts which I frequently do. It’s only an issue when I’m not listening to anything. I’ve looked into updating the car’s software but it’s already on the most current version.
Unfortunately I don’t have Android Auto capability in my car but thanks for the reply. Maybe this will help someone with a similar problem.

If an advanced civilization developed the technology for interstellar travel, and came all this way to earth, I suspect one of 2 things will happen. Either their tech is so advanced that we won’t even detect them, or they show up ready to communicate or destroy us.

Probably because a lot of Farmers are historically conservative and adamantly against many forms of government regulation. When situations like this arise, I imagine them throwing up there hands and asking “How can something like this be allowed to happen??”

I agree with the article. Gen Z are more open to sharing their life with the world. I wouldn’t say early generations just swallowed the bullshit. They just didn’t have a platform to express it to the masses. In the 70s or 80s if you got fired, maybe you reacted the same way, demanding a reason and expressing your frustration. But the only people who witnessed that, were the ones in the room and later on your buddies when you told them the story.
Don’t worry. They’ll be “marked down” to regular price (still overpriced) on the sell-by date so people think they’re getting a deal.
