not much
I think to know that you can query some info from a mailserver to test if an address exists.
Yes, vrfy
For Postfix the default of disable_vrfy_command is : no So I assume you can try it risk free.

A title like “A Terminal Email Client for Gmail As An Alternative To Gmail web: The Old Dog Neomutt And Pals” would be a better fit.
but I rarely see much talk about openSUSE.
Probably because most of the openSUSE users talk in German elsewhere.
There was. Last update 2019.
In the Lemmyverse for self-hosting Immich looks very popular (despite their warning : The project is under very active development. Expect bugs and changes. Do not use it as the only way to store your photos and videos!)

v1.0.3 Latest Fixes
Fixed an issue that led to opening a new Desktop App window when users clicked on the Update button of the Calendar Drawer in Mail. Uninstalling the application on Windows removes user data from the application data folders. The application is placed to a correct application category on Linux. No need to refresh the other application (Mail or Calendar) to apply changes when switching themes.
Is MS Teams the only viable alternative ?

You can try to follow the build instructions like mentioned in another comment but be aware that you are trying to build for a platform which has as far as I can see no official support compile instructions for the software. YMMV.
Yes. Haiku is quite light weight, small and snappy. One drawback is that it has not yet multi user implemented (everything still runs as root! But so do old DOS flavors :-) ) but imho it is fun to play with and check which software packages it has (it has several emulators packaged).
You want to try something interesting but want to dual-boot. That last bit could be difficult or “impossible” but using a VM or running from USB stick are options.
👍 Interesting idea.
I’d welcome polls implementation on Lemmy but maybe this is difficult with federation ? I wouldn’t mind instance only polls.
Mastodon is about micro-blogging, with text, images and videos. PixelFed is only about images which can have a short or longer description. There’s Loops, a work in progress, which will enable short videos for PixelFed. If you would follow others on PixelFed from your PixelFed account you’d only see images.
Guess only North-Americans will worry about PixelFeds names :-)
I don’t see enough people running BSD as a full desktop system. You seems to be experienced with this. I am trying to get into BSD, but am experienced in Linux.
I like BSD a lot but on the desktop Linux gives you much more options and a smooth experience. I’ve read that at BSD conferences BSD developers bring their Mac books with the original Apple OS on it so go figure. Here’s some reading material :
Well I never used command line in 30 years of Windows.
That’s 30 years of using closed source software from strangers (Or do you have many good friends at Redmond WA USA ?) :-)
It’s pretty much a requirement for Linux that you copy and paste random commands you don’t understand from strangers on the internet.
Maybe decades ago it was. Nowadays that’s not a requirement as there’s GUI applications for a lot more things than before. And as a Linux user I simply find it much more convenient and faster to share some commands with another person than making screen shots and creating a howto of a few pages or making a video. Also documentation has improved. For the average Linux user the Arch Linux wiki is a nice resource, even when not using Arch Linux.
