  • I’d definitely be up for what you suggested. Also, The House in Fata Morgana was one I was planning on playing soon and that doesn’t have voice acting. That might be a good one. Coffee Talk Episode 1 and 2 look like good options. I also found this page that has a list of all VNs with women protagonists and includes ratings: https://vndb.org/g134?f=01112gen&l=&m=0&p=1&s=24w Looks like there’s endless options to choose from tbh. What would also be really cool is if we could find someone who’s transmasc and who wants to play the masculine characters.

EDIT: Higurashi also looks like something that could work. Is also spoopy and October is around the corner.

EDIT #2: I found another potential option. The Monster Prom games have a “Make Your Own Voices” option at the beginning so seems like they’re totally made for what we have in mind.

  • So I binge watched Punch Line this weekend, and I kinda sorta loved it, despite the overly lewd and fanservicey humor. Here’s the plot summary from MAL:

After escaping a bus hijacking with the help of masked superhero Strange Juice, Yuuta Iridatsu finds his soul separated from his body and in the care of a perverse cat spirit, Chiranosuke. As a spirit, Yuuta wanders around his residence, the Korai House, aiming to regain his body and observe the other residents: Meika Daihatsu, a genius inventor; Mikatan Narugino, a cheerful idol; Ito Hikiotani, a shut-in NEET; and Rabura Chichibu, a spiritual medium. After catching a glimpse of Narugino’s undergarments, Chiranosuke reveals to Yuuta that he becomes exponentially stronger upon seeing panties. However, if he sees another pair while he is still a spirit, his power will cause an asteroid to crash into the earth, ending the world and killing his friends.

Punch Line follows Yuuta as he unravels the mysteries surrounding Korai House, its residents, and a villainous organization attempting to end the world. Will Yuuta be able to save everyone, or will the ever-present threat of panties result in their doom?

I realize that sounds maybe kinda trashy from the description, and it is, but it also has a pretty great plot and characters imo. Plot involves ghost possession, time travel, strange bear cubs that magically heal themselves, mechs, sketchy genetic research labs, fax machines that send messages through time, hilariously bad American English accents, weird talking cats, ETERNAL FRIENDSHIP, and much much more. Also the main character is trans masc and some of the gender swap elements are handled reasonably well imo. If you can stomach all the panty jokes, it’s well worth checking out in my opinion.

  • So question for both you and @Josephine_Spiro@hexbear.net, would you all be interested in maybe doing something group related for voice training? A couple of ideas I have:

    1. I’ve mentioned this before, but the Trans Academy discord has a lot of great resources for this including bi weekly live voice training lectures and voice training workshops. Shoot me a dm if interested in this.
    2. Maybe we could do our own thing in a group voice call? There are plenty of fun ways to practice, like role playing games, reading theory, reading poems/short stories, or… my favorite idea, reading REALLY terrible crossover fan fiction. Idk, I’m just throwing out ideas but I think some activity like this could be fun and make it a little less scary. Unless we want to read horror stuff, but then it’d be scary in a fun way.

  • PSA: If you’re having any issues with funds related to transitioning, don’t hesitate to reach out using the mutual aid comm! That’s what it’s there for and plenty of people here would be willing to help, including me. I talked this over informally with some of the other mods and we came up with these simple guidelines for making those kinds of posts:

    1. Don’t get into specifics on what you need to use it for. “Transition related help” is all you need to say.
    2. Don’t mention age, where you live (including country/state), or anything else that could be used to personally identify you.

Also, given that some of the resources out there use litecoin, you can also request donations to a litecoin wallet which may help you skip some otherwise tedious steps.

Since I started transitioning and spending more time in trans spaces online, I’ve noticed it’s sadly common for trans people to encounter issues getting what they need, especially in certain US states or countries like the UK that are attempting to cut off gender affirming care. So, I wanted to highlight that this is always an option available to those who need it.

If anyone has any feedback or anything to add to this, please let me know.
