Has anyone tried this yet? I’m tempted to convert my physical card over but I’m worried about my phone dying, etc.
Update: I bought an additional card (Wallet only) and it’s working well so far for the light rail. I also added in a multi ride ferry pass and it correctly** handled that as well. Pretty happy about this so far, aside from being so very late.
** The screen on the turnstile says there’s an error, but it correctly deducts from the pass and lets me through. The wallet app doesn’t actually list pass uses remaining but myorca does.
What are you talking about? I’ve witnessed it several times now at work, especially regarding programming or EE. Have you not yet suffered through a programmer condescendingly explain trivial matters to others, especially to women?
The post is obviously a hyperbole but it’s not too far off from reality.
I don’t think anybody is obsessed with it. It’s a problematic behavior in many men, enough so that it’s become a meme, particularly in the US.
I’ve tried this. It’s drinkable but not very enjoyable. 5/10
I’d argue it depends on who is serving it and what their intentions are. I don’t think it’s necessarily bad. I went to a local Juneteenth celebration and the food stands were serving some fried chicken, collard greens, jollof rice, etc.
Nothing particularly, but it would let LW and other instances distance themselves from the lemmy.ml admins.
Tbh this is one of the reasons why I’m looking forward toward Sublinks
Maybe Thriftbooks? They do offer shipping to Canada but it’s not always cheap.
I can’t change the thickness. I might try cross hatching the ground plane (suggested in the SE) and seeing how that affects the impedance as well.
It’s a USB adapter for a dock. It has a nonstandard pinout, so I made an adapter for it.
I look at the contributors on Github and check them out. I’ll check out what else they’ve worked on and maybe see if they have an account on mastodon or twitter. Maybe I’ll ask some friends if they’ve used or heard of the product, or know of the devs.
There is indeed malware disguised as OSS and you do sometimes have to vet them. I’ll skim the codebase and see if there’s anything that looks weird or funky, but that’s not perfect (like in the case of the xz) and some stuff can slip by.
What helped me understand QM was spending four years getting a degree in physics then never using it again.

It shows the space weather forecast. I think it was G4 last night.
After it started getting dark. It was very vivid around 10:30ish to 11:30 or so. I went to sleep after that though, so it might’ve gotten brighter. I was checking periodically earlier but wasn’t seeing anything til it suddenly became visible.
I’m not sure, there was a ton of light pollution where I was at. It was all over the sky in every direction and moved around.
I was running out of RAM on my 16GB system for years (just doing normal work tasks), so I finally upgraded to a new laptop with 64GB of RAM. Now I never run out of memory.
If you have a memory-mapped peripheral where there’s a readonly register, I could see it being const volatile
.
Maybe there’s something that I’m still missing, but the genders could be any which way and it would still give the same meaning: fucking or screwing someone over. It’s vulgar and tasteless but I don’t think it is necessarily homophobic or misogynistic.
It does simply imply someone is being (sexually) dominated by another, but there’s no placement of “good” or “bad”—just that Microsoft users are being dominated by Microsoft, which is roughly true. I do think it’s a crude analogy and a terrible meme, but to say it’s anything more seems like a stretch.
I’d gone to this museum probably 5-6 times and every time it was amazing. Grateful to have the opportunity but I’m so saddened that it’ll be closing for good. I wish Gates, Bezos, or any rich tech billionaire would’ve stepped in and tried to buy it out.
