Only not normal behaviour for a pre installed system. Windows out of the box install often requires chipset drivers installing for all but usb1.1 speeds as well as drivers for many 3rd party peripherals.

Sending shoes?
If you understood my point why didn’t you address it rather than meandering around it asserting that somehow this particular invention is totally different to previous disruptive technologies that we accept as having been beneficial and no on opposes amymore? How exactly is it different this time in history where it never really has been previously? It may well be of course, but history is against it being so.
You missed the point of what I said. Machines that manufacture goods put many people out of the job and yet you now very few people think that is an issue. At the time however the same kind of arguments I see made against LLMs putting people out of work were being made about these machines making soulless products that missed the human touch. LLMs are just a new tool we’ve invented to make life easier for ourselves. In time the same thing will happen with LLMs once the hype dies down and they just become part of the tool sets we all use without thinking about it.
Like LLMs just spontaneously create lines of audio? They need a human operator to direct them to generate audio just like machines that make most vases are human operated but allow the person to make far more and more quickly than they would by hand. An LLM is still just a tool that needs a person to wield it, it doesn’t replace them it just changes their role and makes them more efficient.
I assume you also only buy hand crafted porcelain items, only buy hand picked produce and generally avoid all automation amd modern convenience. Take your clothes to a local hand-wash rather than using a washing machine too do you? I agree that the energy cost should be taken into account before we declare it to be cheaper to use “AI” generated content.
More like actively removed them for yes men at the last election because the competent ones opposed brexit. The current administration is more a populist brexit party than a traditions Conservative platform.
Don’t let pesky things like facts ruin a perfectly fine feel good piece to make gammon feel a bit chuffed with themselves.
Isn’t there still a hill to climb even if they get subscriber details in proving the person who is the subscriber for that line had anything to do with any “infringement” that may of occurred. I thought speculative invoicing of subscribers had gone out of fashion as a piracy deterrent?
You mean Vanilla Conquer which is a proper cross platform source port?
OpenRA is a game engine and the games built on it are mostly fan C&C like games that are skinned to look like the early actual C&C games. The engine can’t even play the original missions and mp maps.
Can you install arbitrary apps on androidtv or only what is available in the appstore for it without jumping through hoops that possibly involve some command line shenanigans? Similar to how you can install plugins in kodi in libreelec from the official repos perhaps but have to jump through hoops for arbitrary programs? Your real issue then is that libreelec’s ecosystem isn’t as vibrant perhaps and that it doesn’t run on locked down hardware the user doesn’t really control so the media companies allow high quality streaming to them?
Arbitrary applications isn’t a TVOS like the original poster asked for, it’s a general purpose OS.
Glad it’s the court of human rights as the UK is still nominally a part of that if I recall correctly so hopefully derails UK governments attempts as well.
Thanks, this tends to be functionality I dont need that often but when I do it’s frustratingly difficult finding something that doesnt feel like it’s going to need me to sign over my soul so it’s good to know about other open source solutions.
Seem to be quite a few of these types of apps, I’ve been using landrop recently, how does this one compare?
Didn’t expect him to be reigning monarch for long given his already advanced age and the fact males tend to live shorter lives, wonder if this will cut it even shorter?
How is it going to be a privacy and security nightmare to be able to install what I want on hardware I own? If you don’t want to take a risk and install things from other app stores or side load you don’t have to.
By removing the feature from the remote and moving it to an app they turn a cost of a more complex remote into a profit of constant subscription money.
That won’t cause bad sectors though, that just means the data you were writing was bad.
