So he won MVP in his 4th season in the MLB, runner up MVP to Judge when Judge hit 62 homers (5th season), and then MVP in his 6th season, last year. He’s presumed to win MVP again this year, but this will be the first year he nabs it without pitching. How many MVPs is he going to win in 10 years (from the time he won his first)? What’s the over/under if he stays healthy (just to get a sense)? 6.5? It’s interesting to watch going forward; I wonder if voters will ever ‘fatigue’ of voting him for MVP. Will he actually pitch (in relief) in the playoffs this year? And when would that happen, like game 1 or series on the line for the Dodgers?

For the record, I think you contribute a lot to Lemmy, and I really appreciate it. OP’s being melodramatic because blocking a community chock full of content they’d rather not see on their personalized feed (and isn’t hateful, illegal, etc.) isn’t good enough for them. I guess they also need to troll and police different perspectives and how many posts they comprise on this great fedi platform. That’s good for Lemmy /s. Someone should post a PSA about blocking communities that don’t break rules but just aren’t one’s cup of tea. The behaviour helps Lemmy grow and stay diverse. For similar reasons, lemmynsfw (ie, the main porn/adult instance) removed downvotes: because minority communities (eg, rarer kinks) were being downvoted into oblivion - stifling growth and frustrating community members and mods - by people downvoting stuff they didn’t like on their feed versus blocking it

I don’t think it’s intended to provoke non-vegan people, I think it’s meant to be a ‘for us, by us’ community. PSA to all: there’s a block community button for communities that are not hateful or illegal (you should report those) but are things you’d prefer not to see on your personalized feeds

I never said technical solutions were crazy. I just mean to draw attention to the fact that we’re reading a story published in a publication owned by the world’s richest man that says we don’t need to curb consumption currently causing a huge amount of greenhouse gas emissions that we know beyond all reasonable doubt are killing our planet and compromising the longevity of our species - because a sometime-in-the-future technology will rescue things, enabling us to keep consuming at levels that are unsustainable in many other areas beyond methane emissions.

We are in the midst of a great propaganda effort to undermine concern about planetary health in the masses so that the investor class’ profits don’t slow down as the planet turns to shit. This article is a part of that
