I’m getting no results when I search on monero.house for a community that lives in another lemmy instance. Why?

According to the documentation:

You can find more communities by browsing different Lemmy instances…When you found a community that you want to follow, enter its URL (e.g. https://feddit.de/c/main) or the identifier (e.g. !main@feddit.de) into the search field of your own Lemmy instance. Lemmy will then fetch the community from its original instance, and allow you to interact with it.

I did this on our monero.house instance (eg searching for https://lemmy.ml/c/asklemmy or https://lemmygrad.ml/c/worldnews), but I get no results

  1. https://monero.house/search/q/https%3A%2F%2Flemmy.ml%2Fc%2Fasklemmy/type/All/sort/TopAll/listing_type/All/community_id/0/creator_id/0/page/1
  2. https://monero.house/search/q/https%3A%2F%2Flemmygrad.ml%2Fc%2Fworldnews/type/All/sort/TopAll/listing_type/All/community_id/0/creator_id/0/page/1

Is this a bug? Or am I doing something wrong?

Comment from reddit: The entire reason why Ive set up the house instance was ptsd from moderating ai-bot comments on reddit so I really wanted to only have verified humans on there. I dont think there is a way to block people from unverified instances to comment so I’ve been very selective with which communities we federate (I also had no idea of how server-resource-usage would look if you federate with a lot of others).

I would be open to federate with more instances if those concerns can get cleared up :) (so that is probably the reason, we aren’t federated with many other instances)
