sorry, I meant monero.house. It looks like the admin isn’t intentionally siloed, but is just hesitant to do it due to previous issues with spam on reddit (though not on lemmy).

I don’t understand why the left would be opposed to XMR? I say try it and then tighten restrictions only as-needed.
Unfortunately, it appears that federation is broken on this instance.
While I appreciate you for creating this site, it’s not very useful if [a] other lemmy instances can’t subscribe to communities here and [b] accounts here can’t subscribe to other instance’s communities.
We should be able to subscribe, read, upvote, downvote, comment, etc on posts in other lemmy instance communities. And they should be able to interact with us here, too. That’s the spirit of federation!
I hope that this was just a misconfiguration (I’m also new to lemmy) and that the /u/admin will change this so that monero.house can interact with other lemmy instances.
wait, are you saying that you can’t interact with monero.world from lemmy.ca either? If so, is this some misconfiguration or is monero.world it intentionally siloed?
Note that I’ve also tried searching for them using the bang syntax
In all cases I just get No results.
well, but – can we create one?
thanks! by “public” do you mean that previously it was set to “allowlist” and now you’re changing it to “open”?
I’m also curious how users can query what is the state of this configuration value for a given server instance. Any idea?
