  • I am guessing it’s in the range of £100-125m. Bayern seem to have overplayed their hand a bit, thinking that Levy would feel the need to sell regardless of price, and coming in with multiple bids under the asking price. I wouldn’t be shocked if they blink and pay up, but it seems like Levy may be content to keep him. If he goes for free next year, it’s a lot of potential revenue lost, but Spurs are in fine financial shape (it’s not a Barca situation). And Levy seems to think that there’s some small chance that he stays & signs a new contract, if the year with Ange goes well and he likes the direction of the team. Seems remote to me unless Spurs win the league or something absurd like that happens.

  • As somebody with a kid on the west coast, these match times are killing me. There’s just no way to watch. Maybe a few years ago I would have rearranged my whole sleep schedule, but I just can’t anymore…

I wish they could have swung something like 10P pacific (I know, still not great for the east coast, but it’s not like a lot of people are tuning in at 5am). That would have been a reasonable 7AM in Sweden and 3 PM in Melbourne. Even 11P pacific would be a bit better.

  • I think the last match made it obvious - Julie Ertz needs to play in the midfield. We were getting overrun, and had no ability to connect through the middle either. Ceding the middle of the pitch from box to box just isn’t going to work - no matter who plays CB. I have faith in Alana Cook - run her out, put Ertz in the midfield. Having Rose Lavelle back for longer stretches will also help control the game. But the current lineup basically says “let’s strengthen the back line but invite lots of pressure”, which is a recipe for allowing goals and limits the effectiveness of the attack.
