I want to complain about HRT dosage and endocrinologists. Back when I took E via pills, I had some okay hormone levels going, but on the order of my new endo I switched to gel. I don’t understand why, but it just doesn’t work properly and I haven’t been feeling right for a long while now. The doctor never really cared of course. I swear they’re trained to think of “cross-gender” hormones as some rare poison that’s the ultima ratio for the strange patients. Anyway, I’ll be getting a new one soon and if they also suck, I’ll have to look into getting a better one at the next town over. Why does it have to be that difficult?

i read that Kurt Cobain egg theory post again, and…yea they didnt tattoo their skeleton with “I AM TRANS” so they’re definitely cis. Sad shit, all around.

      That’s such a wild post.

When I read the title, I was like, “yeah fucking right. Okay, so I guess whoever you want to be trans is trans, then”

But then I read the post and was like thonk-trans

Yeah, the core point of that post is that we assume people to be cis by default, even when it seems a lot more likely that they’ve actually been eggs. Sure, Cobain could very well have just been a really gender-nonconforming dude who just happened to also struggle with a fuckton of things that are typical symptoms of repressed gender dysphoria and also may have just happened to have said and written a ton of really eggy sounding stuff to challenge patriarchal ideas of masculinity, but let’s be serious, it’s more and more of a reach the more you look at his life. Like, when you move past “i think he wore dresses on stage sometimes, i guess?” and take an actual, close look at the tons of material that are out there and connect the dots, everything screams egg - if you’ve been there yourself. Cis people don’t get that, they cannot connect to that kind of experience, but what do they know? Transness is something that completely eludes their understanding even if they’re queer themselves, staunch trans allies and into gender studies, they never fully feel it because that’s just not how they perceive identity, their body and having to fit into gendered expectations. To write off the idea that Cobain was trans actually means to ignore the more likely explanation because of a societal tendency to doubt and erase transness and to make cis people, the people who know the absolute least about gender, the arbiters of who gets to be a real, valid, true trans person.

        • Thanks for the links. Good read.

“I’m not gay but I wish I was just to piss off homophobes” probably the most trans lesbian egg shit anyone has ever said"

Pissing off homophobes is something all cool people should be want to be a part of. I’m not a lesbian but wanting to piss off homophobes is definitely a sentiment I’ve felt. Also suspect my brother has felt that way too, but honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he eventually follows a similar pipeline to that outlined in the post. But he seems pretty confident in being cis and its not from lack of exposure to gender diverse people.

Imo, I think we both feel that way mostly our of defensiveness for our mom?

Boymoding for the first time in a while to meet my grandparents, but I lost like 7kg of probably mostly muscle since I used these clothes so I just look like someone who raided her boyfriend’s wardrobe.

When I sing it’s like the karaoke fail in DE but 10x worse. Are there any first-time-since-elementary-school-singer + already-voice-trained-transfem combo guides out there???

so I went looking for this a couple of years ago and it doesn’t really exist. everyone I talked to in the trans voice community said keep working on trans voice stuff and just sing a ton. fwiw, singing really helps make trans voice easier because vocal control is key. you just keep practicing and practicing and practicing and eventually you don’t suck, apparently?

badeline-disgust Been watching this banger video about compulsory heterosexuality n feminism, but

    lil bit of transphobia discussion

somehow Princess Weekes brought up… the Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival? No way, it’s actually real?? It doesn’t just exist as a bit in Nevada??? Ended in 2015???

Anyway the video has a couple statements from the Michigan Womyn’s people in it, and it contains one of the more bizarre things I have ever seen: the term “trans womyn”, spelt with a fucking “y”. What does this even mean, relative to “womyn”? What’s the difference? Who the literal fuck are these deeply unserious dorks??? wut

There’s a nice essay by Michelle Tea about her visiting Camp Trans, the counter-festival trans people were putting up against Michfest. Anyway, wait till you find out that the infamous “trans penis” incident that helped to galvanized the whole conflict occurred because a trans man who’s also a cop took a shower – you couldn’t write this in fiction.
